Comments:
The score is a close estimate--may go up a bit when we merge the logs from the
two computers.
Gator made the trip up to Rochester so we could operate this contest for
practice for WRTC 2002--and we had a blast!
High points: Incredible 20-meter propagation in the middle of the night; the
Gator's company; Corona with lime (not during the contest); most everything not
listed below as low points.
Low points: Relatively poor 15-meter conditions Saturday morning (compared with
recent conditions); extremely poor JA propagation--especially on 15; a computer
problem on second station that took a lot of hosing around to fix; THE
TEN-MINUTE RULE. Aargh!
A comment on low-band propagation: 40, 80 and 160 were awesomely quiet--about
the best I've ever heard except in winter--until about 06Z, when the QRN
everywhere came up to around S9 to the west--right when we wanted to hear that
direction.
Oh, yes--everyone must be wondering who won the pool to see how long after the
contest began that Gator would take off his shirt. Nobody wins--he kept it on
the whole time! The shack was a very comfortable 70 degrees all weekend with
the windows open. :-)
