Comments:
Fantastic contest! This was a personal best!
Contest started off great. After 3 hours I had 600 QSOs in the log.
Then I
got a call that my 7 year old was on the way to the hospital with a bad
cut.
So, after 50 minutes off for a hospital visit, I was able to continue.
I
generally enter the contests for the thrill of the pileups, but I do a
little
S&P after breaks when I am hunting a open spot in the band. I did not
have
a good EU opening, but I picked up several mults by S&P. My patience
for
40M wears out pretty fast, so I did more S&P on that band then running.
Was able to pickup some good mults there. I tried 80M both nights. I
hung
in there for a while, but 80M sets all the phones ringing in our ham
shack,
so after an hour or so I had to change bands.
I have no complaints on this one. I was very happy with how things
went.
Looking forward to the JIDX and ARRL 10M contests that are coming up
soon.
Now to get some more QSL cards printed!
I'd like to thank Tim (V73AT) and Sam (V73A) for their help in getting
the
amp fixed in time for the contest. Thanks to Steve (V73SP) for
helping to replace the pole steps so that we could replace a bad
feedline
in time for the contest. And to my sons Austin and Dalton for their
help
in actually replacing the feedline. Without everyones help I couldn't
have done nearly as well.
Thanks for all the QSOs!
73, Dave - V73UX (WW2AVG)
