I just posted some pics here:

Finally got bit by the thunderstorm thing getting
forced off for the 1st time in a contest. It looks
like it was a blessing in disguise as I later found
out it happenned during the big solar fart which
killed 10/15 for a while. The 1st 6 hours was painful
due to static crashes on 10/15/20 - I heard guys
calling which I just couldn't copy. 15m sounded like
160 until the storms dissapated. Sorry I was an
alligator, but I was pretty much hopeless.
2nd 6 hours was a blast with good rates and lots of
good mults especially on 40 and 80. Paul's new
switchable K9AY receiving array was a major asset on
the low bands.
Hardest thing was staying awake especially at the
end. It was like Sunday afternoon in CQWW for me
since I hadn't slept since Thursday night. I had duty
Friday and ended up pulling an all nighter drafting
search patterns for a missing disabled boat (which we
found @ 5:30AM Saturday with everyone safe).
I got home after the contest to find my QTH had
received a direct lightning strike. Still sorting
out the damage which so far includes 1 computer,
a fax machine, and a VCR. The radio gear was all safe
at K1PT's.
It was fun hearing all the FCG activity and humbling
at the same time to the reason for it. I worked lot's
of "D"s, Dave, Dan, Daddy, Doobie, DD, Deet - I thought
it was "DIT" at first but the REAL Dit was using Jeff.
It took me a sec (OK, Im slow) to realize the reason N5TJ
was using Goldie...maybe I'll get the chance to use that
name in 2006.
Thanks Paul for letting me use his station again!

Finally, it looks like I finished 2nd in both CW NAQP
contests this year. Big congrats to Scott W4PA who looks
like he finally won one. He's one heck of an op and
certainly deserves it after all these 2nd and 3rd place
finishes.
