Well, the CTDXCC NAQP SSB M2 shoot out was just that. Man you could throw a
towel over the scores! Great competition from all the stations, not just the
CTDXCC group!
At 10am Sat I decided to try one last ditch effort to field a team. UA0OFF, a
student at Texas A&M, said he would come. Also his first NAQP so we would be
bringing some "new blood" into the contest. Then I e-mailed NX5M and his M2 had
fallen apart so he and N5XJ said they would make it from about 3pm-dark. N5RP
and W5PR caught wind of it and decided to drive up from Houston and just hang
out with us. They did finally operate late and it was much needed. I started
alone but Dennis, UA0OFF, soon showed up to take over the second station.
We tried something new this time.. No Packet, No TR database filling in
name/state. Old time contesting! We worked hard moving stations and tuning the
bands. Thanks to all those QSY's, that is what makes NAQP so much fun!
Looks like this one is in the log checkers hands! Congrats to all the M2's for
some fantastic competition!
Tofu Anyone?
