While I'm running on 10m in the Saturday morning, the main radio
FT-1000MP/Mark-V was suddenly turned off and never came up the power at all. I
limitted the power around 15 watts to suppress the final output from the
amplifier up to 300 watts, but why Mark-V was broken? I operated with FT-920
instead after that accident. Anyway I appreciate that KH2JU and JE1HJA helped
me in my enjoyable first operation in Guam Island.
I returned home in Tokyo 3 hours ago. In spite of my very short 67 hours stay
in Guam, I enjoyed not only radio but also a sightseeing because of the 30
hours operating time limitation. But I prefer full 48 hours permission for
getting more QSOs. If possible, I want the sponsor to change the rule.
The other concern is the lengthy traffic in RTTY contests. Why most of RTTY'ers
send their own callsign 3 times or more? Why do they send back my callsign in
each traffic? If all QSOs were with shorter exchanges like CW, we could work
much more contacts. Is this wrong?
In these days, the RTTY population seems increasing at the high rate. I want to
plan a next DX vacation for CQ/RJ WW RTTY Contest in September. If anyone
allows me to operate at your shack, please let me know.
