Rig: TS870
Antennas:
160/80: nil
40m: 40m dipole @ 35-40ft high fed with 450 ohm ladder line
20/15/10: Cushcraft D-3 @ 20 feet (at most) and 40m dipole
Missed the first 3 hours of test between just getting out of work late and
trying to get the D-3 dipole up to 35' with the 40m dipole. That turned out to
be a failed effort (for the time being!) so I started the test just as 10m was
closing with the D-3 at it's apparently rightful place of under 20 feet high!
Luckily I have very advantageous terrain towards EU and pretty good towards JA.
Despite the failed antenna effort I was in very good spirits and just decided
to work at it as long as it was fun! Sunday was already a ski day so I wasn't
going to kill myself. Talk about having trouble pulling myself away from the
rig!! It was a blast! As my sister-in-law back east says... "What a hoot!".
Picked up HK twice with VR2BG pumping out unanswered CQ after CQ and got Jordan
as well on 2 bands with ease once again with unanswered CQ's.
I suspect 98% of my Q's were S&P. I tried to "run" a few times, but the
station just isn't up to it at the moment. I did put together a 10Q or so run
on 15m Saturday night as it was closing! :-)
Thanks to everyone, it was a real blast!
