Comments:

My kingdom for a 160 meter antenna! It really hurts to forfeit those hundred
or more QSOs and 25 to 45 mults. And while I'm griping, when condx are so hot
between NA and EU all I can do is wait till Europe fades down before getting
anything going. Many EU stations sounded like locals!
I finished the contest on such a high! After being so bored in the morning
with rates of 30/hr while having time to do the sunday crossword puzzle, things
really picked up after noon. I reset my goals for 2500Qs/2 million points/100+
hour,
and made them all!
I just couldn't stay awake after resting only 90 minutes on Saturday morning
and
took off from 0530 until 1230Z Sunday morning. My score didn't like but my
body sure did!
I had lots of interesting moments like finding I was CQing where both TF and HS
decided to appear. No problem. Tuning across OD5, A4, P4, JY all CQing with
little success on 10 made me wish I weren't DX myself. :)
My feeling is that there was much less participation from the USA than in past
years. I can't imagine how some have managed over 5k QSOs in the past.
Thanks for all the QSOs. Apologies to those I couldn't move for. It usually
has to do with losing a precious run frequency.
I wonder how many different XE stations were worked during the weekend?
Despite being in the middle of a move back to the US I couldn't resist
unpacking the station, throwing up my dipoles and A3S and putting my other
duties on hold.
The usual fare: TS-440S/AT, TR log, A3S on 10' mast on 5 story roof, drooping
dipoles from 20' over roof. Just didn't have enough time or fiddling energy to
try fitting a 160 wire or even get the borrowed 80 mtr traps
installed. When my top floor neighbor saw the tribander going up again she
tried to pull the plug on my weekend, but after some negociating and document
waving she agreed to just turn off her TVs for the weekend. Whew!
