Comments:

Love those verticals by salt water!  Sorry about my receive capability.  I've 
owned three IC706's and forgot that I hadn't installed the narrow filter in 
this one.  All contacts were made with the standard wide filter!  That was one 
reason I decided to operate QRP and why I didn't operate fulltime. Also, the 
crushing broadcast signals on 40M caused intermod there, and limited contacts. 
Much of the time, Europe was stronger than stateside (40M thru 10M)and it was 
difficult to get a run going with stateside beams on Europe. 
I'll try to get an inverted L up for the 160M test this coming weekend, but it 
will have to be 100+ feet back from the edge of the Bahia Chetumal or the large 
lagoon that seperates Mexico from Corozal, Belize, where I am.  My vertical was 
at water's edge.
Antenna: 25 year old Hygain trap vertical
Rig: IC-706 with no CW filter
Operator: the weakest link!
