WOW ! What a GREAT RIDE for a QRPer !
Couldn't have asked for better conditions on ALL bands.
HIGH Bands were open longer than I ever remember.
Several UA9/0 on 10M, even in Zone 18. Best DX:
A4, EX, UN, XW on 10, YI on 15, VR2 on 10,15,20,
only EA8, EA9, 5U in AFR, only KH7, V7, VK5GN, YB
in Pacific. Where were all the VK / ZL's and ZS?
High Band mult's seemed too low for the good condx.
LOW Bands were incredibly QUIET, not only here,
but in Europe also. Never needed the Beverages.
Worked 50 EU on 80M QRP including more difficult
or longer paths to LA, OZ, SM, HA, HB, OE, OK, OM,
SP, YU, S5, T9, 9A. LOVE that 130 ft high Dipole !
40M signals were incredibly LOUD.
Over 120 stations worked on 3 or more bands.
6B - PJ2T, VP5U
5B - 20 stns (V31JP -10M, ZF1A -20M)
4B - 50 stns
3B - 50+? stns
I got the feeling that I could work anybody on 10-40 M
with these great condx. Packet Pileups were 'unpleasant',
thank goodness for memories! Sometimes worked, sometimes not.
As usual, TIMING IS EVERYTHING, especially for QRPers.
Mostly S&P with a single radio...gotta get those broken radios fixed!
Only one hour of RUN time on Sunday in 3 spurts on 10M. SO2R
is the way to go...next time.
