Comments:

Improved 40 meter antenna since last year, but score was significantly down. As
expected, band conditions on 10 were poor, but was glad to get some QSOs there.
Mainly west coast and South America plus Colorado and two very strong Missouri
stations. Most QSYs to 10 were failures. Same really for QSYs to 15. 15 was
long and closed early. Signals were generally weak, but QSOs seemed possible
with those on the west coast. Very few backscatter QSOs made. Heard someweak
east coast stations like VE3KP, but QSYs with them later failed. 20 was vry
good at times and stayed open late with some medium area skip. I think there
were no QSOs in the fourth call area except with VA and KU8E here in GA.
40 went long very early and it was hard to get the close in states. 80
seemed pretty good except for QRN. West coast stations were generally weak,
but some were workable. Didn't do very well with 160. Think everyone had
QRN problems there. Glad to work TI5N on 5 bands (heard Jo on 160 too),
XE2MX on 3 bands, FP/K9OT, NH6PR on 2 bands, and non-North American participants
CX7BY (two bands), DL5MC, YU7GMN, and G3LIK (on 40). Eastern
Canada, VE1,2,3,9 and VO1 were well represented, but I heard only one VE7 (VE7VO
on three bands) and two VA/VE6 stations. No VE5 or VE4 this time.
Also recall hearing no VT, RI, or NE stations. Think the other US states
were worked on at least one band. Glad to have KO7X in his new QTH in WY
and N3DXX was very QRV from sometimes-rare DE. Also AA1LL with his KB1CZP
call from his place on the Maine coast.

and

Also recall

XE2MD on
