Comments:

Wellllllll... I thought about going for a single band run on 40M or 160M and may
still enter the final competition as a single band but obviously I did not
allocate any significant portion of time to any ONE band. I must say that this
CW stuff is getting to grow on me. My voice is much clearer afterwards and,
except for every noise I hear sounding like code, I have very few ill effects. I
rested well the first day and turned in for bed about 2PM I think. After a
pretty good first day I enjoyed 7 hours of peaceful rest starting at 10PM local
time the second night. I never really ran a frequency for any prolonged time, so
I was surprise to see I was spotted 3 times with one undiplomatic spotter
probably transmitting into a dummy load (I sent him an EMail questioning his
diplomacy skills perhaps a fellow countryman could counsel him). This was my
highest score thus far and apparently I've done something right to improve my
net score by over 600,000 points. There were a lot of highlights... and almost
no lowlights.

1. Plenty of rest prior to the test allowed me to stay up longer the first
night.
2. The 40M 4 square was a blast into Europe with over a third of the total Q's
3. So many good signals everywhere... I just scrapped my single band plan to
join in the Huge Party
4. Started sending by hand and forgot I wasn't even using the computer.
5. Local club president (K0LW) came by to see how I was doing and then Marty
(NW0L) showed up... It took me a while but I finally realized that they were
here for something.. My wife had thrown me a birthday party and didn't even
invite me.
6. I picked a nice round number 1,111 QSO's to end it all an hour early and say
hi to the guests.
7.I've actually got a ton of new band mode (I'm new to CW) contacts (over 100)
and a couple of all time new ones.
8.During a late run a pointed the beam about 330 Deg (looking for JA) and worked
a bunch of EU.. including YL,LY,RA, many OH (really active).
9. Most surprising calls were from KL7 and 4K1C (twice).
10. I hope we can endure this diplomatic adventure and have some peace
throughout our amateur radio community and spread the joy that we have in
exercising our equipment with others. HAPPY HOLIDAYS
