I read the rules but didn't heed the 60 minute off-time rule and plan my
operating times, however, this is part of the learning curve.
I take breaks when I need to for all normal family reasons etc. and too many
were for less than 60 mins , and for the sake of 20 minutes or so on several
occasions I could have had a far better go on 40 metres at the conclusion of the
contest when a lot of the stations were new prefixes for me, I was so close to
getting 200 which became the major objective as my time neared it's

In the week prior to the contest I received some excellent advice ( I will name
just one this time, a certain GU0SUP, Phil , who in last week's XE contest I had
worked for the first time ever, it really is a RARE entity for me.

All the talk of openings at certain times and on what band is to me yet another
aspect that I need to master so that I know when to change bands etc,.
DX Cluster is I know, an excellent tool ( thanks to you others , not named this
time - see above ) but I only get 2 hours from my ISP and have not yet mastered
all the swapping around, I tend to trawl a band picking off all I can and change
when I get no responses or no new stations - hi.

Thanks for reading
