Comments:

Great contest and cood condx, especially 80m! Spent all of my pre-contest prep
time at "The Cabin" Saturday morning fixing a support rope for one end of the
140' ladder-line fed dipole. It had frayed and broken sometime in the last few
months. I forgot to bring my fishing pole and golf ball, so it took many
attempts with a string tied to a tennis ball sized rock to finally hit the right
spot (about 50' up) on the tree. When I finally had the dipole back up, it was
already past 1800z, and I hadn't even set the station up yet! I took the first
30 minutes of the contest as off time (ouch!). Unfortunately, getting the main
80-10m "skyhook" back up left no time to put up the 160m inverted-L. Which
means that I missed about 30 easy mults on top band. Still, had a great time
and it is always nice to hear so many friends, both old and new, on the bands.
Good news is that the FT-1000MP that I'm now using worked flawlessly. Still
can't believe the difference in receivers compared to my trusty old TS-930.

73 es cul,
Charlie N9CO
