Great Conditions = Great Fun!! Reminded me of 2 years ago...

Set out as a casual to test my dusty gear and repaired antennas, and try to do
DXCC on as many bands as possible so much of the contest was S&P busting
pileups, some rather huge...Was a nice relaxing change of pace...Nice to have
good condx and be able to leave the amp off most of the time...Needed some power
to bust a few of the pileups though, especially Sunday afternoon into
Africa...What a zoo...

Highpoints - FP/VE7SV on all 6 bands, and 40 countries and 12 zones on 80 with a
simple inverted V at 40 feet...had one run Sunday afternoon where the "last 100"
rate meter hit 450...

Lowpoint - 40 metres was terrible here both evenings...Did manage 57 countries
and 16 zones with 60 S&P QSO's, so not 1 run generated on 40...We need some kind
of standard bandplan on 40!!

Equipment - 1 FP1000MP Mark V, 1 tri bander and a couple wires in the back
yard...N1MM Logger was perfect as usual...Happy to report all gear seems OK
after being off for most of the last 6 months...

Much looking forward to CW at the end of the month...Helluva lot more to my
liking than SSB...

Thanks for all the Q's, was a lot of fun...

73, Scott VE1OP
