Comments:

I put in about 22 hours. I was totally prepared to go the full 24, but the solar
event Sunday afternoon really took its toll here, at least twice. Really hit us
hard up here in the northern latitudes. The second one took out 20M completely,
and only a few of the big ones were heard on 40M here for an hour or so. Very
weak and watery sounding signals. The vision of the aurora produced was almost
worth the bad propagation at the end of the contest. Man does not live by
contests alone. ;) The optional DSP filters in the K-2 made a huge difference.
BTW, the key clicks here were really loud all over the bands, I don't remember
it being that bad in past SS contests. Worked all sections but AK and HI. Too
bad, as I almost always get these two in other contests from here. Maybe next
year SO2R with QRP.
