First attempt in this contest - was planning to do only 2 meal and relax
breaks
but suddenly got bored and tired after the lunch, so went for an extended nap...
(also think that 24h was enough...).
The contest started very slowly, but got a sudden boost during final hours (best
hour21=65Q).Good peak-rates (report repetition rarely needed !) but for only
short periods of time.
I was expecting a better participation from the Russian stations (only 34
oblasts all bands), but it turned out to be more a W-event (see breakdown by
Cty). 80m terribly noisy due to thunderstorms, 10m empty (apparently a few E's
in EU, but nil heard in JN35), fortunately 14 and 21 were in quite good shape...

20m closed during the second half of the night made be feel that summer was over
!
First contest with 0 -10m QSO- but probably not the last one... On the other
hand 15/20 conditions to west-coast US have been better than in many contests
before.

Two small problems with the computer: 1) Had to restart the software many times
due to the loss of the CAT (happened only on 40 - so assume RF pbm...) 2)
Suddenly lost the FSK-keying COM-port (Windows XP problem with my hardware).

Once again really appreciated the proII RTTY filter - especialy on 40m... (I
wonder how I could do with the 706 - 500hz filter before!)

Thanks all for the QSO's and see you soon on the bands.
Patrick
