Comments:
Whew! That was...different. Where was 15 on Sunday? Conditions
on 40 and 80 were great Friday night - noisy Saturday. I think
I may owe IS0IGV an apology...I started calling CQ on a nice clear
spot (I thought) on 40 and I THOUGHT he called me. Apparently, he
was trying to work someone else and I was too tired to figure out
what was going on until he was gone. Oh, well!
WAE CW is still my favorite contest!
I will never get the off-time strategy right for this one. I
only took four hours off Friday night because conditions on the
low bands were so good. I ended up taking 1:45 on Sunday afternoon
when 15 SHOULD have been wide open. I think that gamble may have
paid off since 20 was pretty stale at that point.
Thanks to all of the stations who changed bands for me. A lot of
band changes helps the multiplier count!
If I ever come up here again, I WILL take the Canadian tests and get
a VY2 callsign. I'd forgotten how much fun VY2/KD4D was for the
ENTIRE weekend!
