Comments:

Wow, finally got my low band antennas working half decent, I was even running on
160m for a change.

Ten meters had a brief opening on the Sunday to South America which my SO2R
scanning finally paid off. I only wish it could have been a stronger opening as
4 q's really didn't justify the effort spent scanning the band regularly during
the rest of the contest.

Lots and lots of S&P with both radios. Two years ago I gave up on trying to do
two radios at the same time. The fumbling with the keyboard as well as my brain
just couldn't seem to grasp the split tasks and I would give up in frustration.
After some serious re-thinking I concluded that I really need to continue to
work at this skill in order to be serious contender in the future. So I added a
second computer, configured N1MM for two radios and had two of my kids talk to
me at the same time about different topics, one on the left and one on the right
while I typed with two hands on two keyboards. Kind of a family-drill activity!
I figured this would be good practice for SO2R. Anyway I appear to have
little more success so my efforts to do two radios at the same time have been
re-energized. Mostly the second radio was used to sweep the band and load calls
into the bandmap for the first radio to work.

The bands didn't really open enough to have a good run into Europe. It was hard
to hold a frequency when the band was hot. A lot of time was spent running our
good 2-point friends to the south, although I did have a few good spurts at
JA's.

Thanks to everyone who gave me the points and to my wife and kids who brought me
food and drinks and basically allowed me to be alone to contest all weekend
without any guilt. :-)
