First time in this one - what a shame !
Conditions are similar to EU VHF contest - distance is always fun. Look at the
activity on VHF here in Eu, maybe this will be a key to improve activity on VHF
in the NA !

It was snowing randomly all the timme. I am prety sure it was snowing ALL the
time to the west of me.

Both propagation and activity to JA was very good - 51 QSOs which were in
average nice 18.4 point ( As amtter of fact most often it 89xx km - Why not 90xx
?). I wonder what the bit "closer" ones like SO2R, SN7Q and UA2FF have done
there ?

3 VK.s came - the longest 15917 km. + DU9,YB5,VQ9,a couple of UA0,JT
Propagation to NA was not very good. Worked "only" 139+12 K+VE, I expected it is
going to be more. In ARRL 160 ON4UN have beaten OK1RF from the same station by
20 QSOs only - well not me this time - the 800 km difference made it.
Calling CQ to states seemed unproductive at times so I tried to S/P and it was a
mixed experience. There were some which to work was a snap. But to call some
stations was almost useless, there was a lot of W5+W9+W0 quite strong here but -
I would say that about 50% of them were completely deaf - but not that they did
not heard me they did not heard other stations from the USA calling them which I
heard nicely ! It could be said as rule of thumb the weaker the station was the
easier you get him ! I am sure I have called most of the ones posting scores
here which do not have me in the LOG.
Similar with K7RAT who was reasonably audible here, I kept calling him for maybe
7 minutes, nothing and than some W3 worked him and gave him OK1 calling you,
reaction was "WOW"! and it was easy qso, I heard him he heard me ?!?
Also the "DX zone" is a problematic isue. Everybody wants to call CQ there both
in Eu and NA and the result is nice JAM there, while calling CQ somewhere else
you might hear some weak stations but the S/P stations are probably not checking
for the weak ones..... They SHOULD !

Not a single station from SA, the only one from Africa was VQ9 !!!

Together 489 QSOs - 252 DX.

Thanks for a QSO and HNY2006 !

Ant 47m high vertical with 150 radials + inv VEE @ 42 m + 4xbev to NA,2xbev to
JA, 1xbev to W + piece of wire. All the bev 346m long.
IC756PROIII + PPA.
