Comments:
I'm not known for my CW skills and don't enjoy CW contesting as much as SSB
contests, but I wanted to see if I could beat last years record score set by
N4PN on 40 and also wanted to see how I would do against the M/M stations on 40
with their hired guns.
It was obvious by 0000Z (826 QSOs and 95 mults)the second day that conditions
were not as good as last year and the record was going to stand. I hung in
there a couple more hours, just hoping some miracle condtions would pop up, but
no way. I finally shut the rig around 0330Z, missing a great morning run to
Europe and JA. Played for an hour and a half Sunday afternoon just to get the
total up to 1000 QSOs.
Many stations the first night were ESP level, even the 599100. For a CW contest
it wasn't too bad. Breakdown follows:
