First serious (aborted) attempt in this contest...
Everything started nicely with quite good bands conditions, but...
Sunday morning 0330z after 1306Q's for some 21h of trafic, I was running for abt
30mn on 40, when the power went-off... Did not believe it could last so I
waited: The 40m is obviously the band to make points, and sunrise the best
period for the appreciated 6points QSO's... around 0800z I had amost burned my
remaining 6 hours of rest-time, and still no power, so I took the 735 and my
laptop, I pooled a coax cable from the tribander and started operating from the
car; field-day style... (fortunately had a recent log backup on my USB-stick).
The power came back around 1245z after they had replaced the local transformer,
but my motivation had gone and the good conditions with it ... Need better luck
next year (Murphy: this is the second major power failure in 25 years, but the
second one in 2005 !)
Thanks all for the QSO's... and maybe next week in the FD... I have some
training !
