Comments:

Well, the contest was a hard work S&P as it's a normal routine for QRP. Most of
the stations called copied my signal O.K with some mistakes in a suffix. That
was cured using extended spaces between letters when programming F-keys in K1EA
contest software. Conditions were medium to good and therefore my zone score
looks great (34). Heard zones 6 and 26, didn't hear zones 2 (why?), 31, 1, 12.
This time contest was the best time for trying a newly acquired Argonaut V.
Right after couple of hours on the first day I have changed radio for Icom
756PRO ( my base station) for comparison, and Argo performed very well. However
I've noticed that sensitvity of RX of Argo is too high and changed it by
internal pot setting comparing with input signals of Icom. Then I used TenTec
until the end of the contest. At output level of 5W (measured by Argo itself and
monitored with Daiwa wattmeter on line) cooling fan was not necessary while S&P
and might be required when CQ-ing. But for only couple of minutes I called CQ in
a second day (14100 an up) having few responses on propagation's peak.
Overall the contest was another great weekend and my goal to beat old SP QRP
record was reached by the morning of the second day. Then I put a new targets in
front of my eyes ( yes, post-it yellow sticker)which was a 400 QSOs, 30 zones,
100 countries and 100k points. These targets I reached two hours before the end
of the contest. Some good short skip openings occured when I almost decided to
quit.

Summary: Great fun, many familiar callsigns, good condx, good Argo warm-up.

Best 73'ss

Wim SP5DDJ
