I really enjoyed this one! I decided to do the HP category for the first time in
a very long time.  I figured that with the sun spots low,  I would rather make
QSO's with HP than hope to place high in the LP category.  I ran about 500 watts
out, not all that high, but as much as my amplifier  will do with it's present
power supply. I had a chance to test out  many antennas that I erected and
improved over the summer months, and that really seemed to pay off!  The high
point for me was working Ascension Island on 160!  Not many signals on 15, but
what was there was choice.  I was amazed at how many African countries  seemed
to be workable, especially on 15 meters.  I don't think that I have ever seen so
many in my log from any contest,  thanks folks for putting in time in this one!
Curiously, almost no EU signals on 15 from here.   Not any 10M openings as I
checked often.  I actually did 30% better in this contest than last year, but
last year I was LP as well.  I put in about 22 hours, not all that much, but
enough to have a great time.
