Had fun at this new qth location where antenna farm is “under construction” and
even “under conception !”.
Current antennas are : vertical HF6V with 32 radials for high bands, 5 commuted
folders for 40m and delta loop (APEX at 15m feed with RG58) for 80 m. No antenna
for 160m (tried to use 80m delta loop with matching box, but no success, all the
power must warm the ground and the coax !).
The real must is the 160m long beverage beaming Europe and lake shore all
around.
TX is FT 1000 MP Field and 1KW amp.

Thanks to VE3NEA and his Morse Runner software, I really improved my run ability
(but still need more training, especially on multi-callers situation) and was
able for the first time to run several hours without getting tired or stressed
but having fun (8 hours of total run time out of 34h30 of operating time) .

It was very difficult to keep a run frequency more than half an hour on low
bands without being ejected by a big gun. US stations were many to call me
during the runs and by the way helped me to keep the frequency against European
big guns . Many tanks to them and to their patience by sometime repeating their
call, their signal coming from the back of the beverage was often very weak. I
promise next time to make the beverage bi-directional by switch!

The targets with such station and contest experience were : over 1000 qso, score
over 1.000.000, improvement of my personal DXCC/WAZ score especially on 80/40 in
my new country where I am now living for 16 months and having a callsign for 1
year (ex F6FFM).

The 2 best moments were 1) when I was called by 6W1RW, operated by my friend
Jacques/F6BEE (always over busy pile up when you try to get this multi) during a
run on 80m, thanks to him, who is a serious top contester and took the time to
give me this multi, 2) when I was called by JF1NZW during a run on 20m. (It is
not so obvious to be called by a JA at this point of solar cycle through North
pole when one use a simple vertical antenna). His signal was very very weak and
distorted(by the North path ?), and I needed 3 or 4 times to copy his whole
callsign. 30mn earlier, I had spent 15mn to get the JA multi on a (soft) pile
up! Conclusion : next time I'll spend more time to run and less to multi.

Next year, I expect to have real serious antennas, so, be aware a new challenger
was born during this contest!
