Comments:
We can only be pleased we were this far south in Ontario during all the
ionospheric disruption that was rampant this weekend! Tried Multi-op with a
little help from son Tom, VE3MFT, but he had to head back out of town on Sunday
and the last two hours of the contest were Easter Dinner and drive him to the
airport!
It was overly long skip when there was any at all. 160m actually was about the
best band for inter Ontario QSO's. Can't you tell we're approaching the bottom
of the cycle? A sweep of the Counties and Districts was virtually impossible
with those guys up north behind that electrical curtain. It was fun trying to
get as many as possible, but we were primarily interested in providing a HP
signal that could be heard and on working on the overall multiplier including
states and DX countries. Only 40 of 48 County/Districts worked.
I hope everyone had fun despite the tough conditions. Thanks for all the Q's and
my apologies to the few stations I could hear calling but just couldn't decipher
(and perhaps to many that called but never made it to my receiver!)
See you again next year!
73 Bob VE3KZ
