Comments:

ARRL DX CW is my favorite contest. This is the contest that us little guns can
run...or at least that is what I used to do when I was using a beam (mini quad)
and there were sunspots. I still had fun this year but never got a good run
going.

I’m still sorting out the antennas at my new QTH. Used K2KQ's Double-L antenna
for 160/80 (at least it was based on his antenna). This is my first time having
an antenna on 160 and it is a lot of fun. Only ran 100 watts on top band so
thanks to those that heard me. I have got to say, after 12 years it is still
really cool to build an antenna and get to speak to someone on the other side of
the world with it.

40-10 were run mostly on a ladder line dipole but I was plagued by RFI problems
that caused me to re-arrange my shack in the middle of the contest (if you heard
me on 40 on Saturday night and I sounded rough that is why) and rewire the TV so
my Wife would stop complaining (the ladder line passes 10 feet from the TV.

Writelog worked pretty well but it locked up on me a couple times due to the RFI
which also took out the telnet session for packet so I spent some time setting
up a laptop to serve out spots which worked pretty well except unlike with a TNC
there is no way to re-establish the session remotely so when ever it died I had
to go to the other room to re-connect....time to buy some RF filters hihi.

Got a kick out of hearing my dad in the pileups....he beat me this time but I
put up his antennas so I'll just have to put up bigger/higher ones here :-)

Not having a beam sucks...I can't wait to get the A4S in the Garage in
service.

Not sure where I'll be for SSB but cu in the pileups.

Zev N2WKS

GO FRC!!
