Comments:
We were pleased to have WA5BDU make it up for the first time and sorry that the
weather and other obstacles prevented a few who were planning to come from being
able to make it. N5OE came from Texas and it was good to see Carlin for the
first time in two years. KB0VVT, KG0US and KG0UT made it down from Kansas City
for one day on Sunday after we had about 6 inches of snow on Saturday. K9BGL
made it down from Illinois and N5XR from Oklahoma. We had a good group of
operators from five states.
We did a lot of planning and work to get ready for this contest and it paid off
in an improved score relative to last year with conditions not as good on the
high bands. Special thanks to N5XR, N5OE, K5LG, N5RR, and K5QQ for taking their
time to help me with stuff that needed to be done before the contest.
Heard HS0ZDJ long path on 80M during daylight at the end of the contest but
could not work him. I think that is the first long path signal I have ever
heard at near sunset on that band from Arkansas.
