Comments:
Team of operators gathered at W6YX with a goal of having fun and bang a lot of
QSOs in the NAQP CW. We had set up two operating stations and two spotting
positions for the contest. We had two operating stations QRV the whole 12h, one
spotting station was listening about 30-40% of the time, and the second spotting
station about 10% of the time.
We were able to get our 160m double-L antenna working for the contest. Although
the SWR low point was up at about 1845 kHz (1:1.7), we were able to match it
pretty well with rig's internal tuner and have quite a many of QSOs with it. The
work to improve the antenna will continue and hopefully it will be kW ready by
the CQ 160m contest.
10m was a total loss... we checked it often with the spotting rigs but never
heard more than our own harmonics. We didn't saw any spots there either so
besides the first 10 minutes we didn't operate on 10m. 15m wasn't that good
either and we QSYd down to 40m early.
