Newly purchased (Dayton) Yaesu FT-897D at lowest pwr setting of 5 w. out; new
LDG Z-100 tuner; 95% of all QSOs with a Hustler 4BTV vertical ground mounted;
VE7CA wire beam not as effective this yr; last hour of contest I used a 40 m.
dipole at 35'.  40 m. much too noisy both Fri & Sat nights for QRP.  20 m. was
bread & butter band, but 15 was decent and some good openings on 10.  Very
little activity on 80/160.  No VK ZL hrd; only a couple Japan stns hrd and none
worked.  The EU club stations managed to pull me in!  C Y'all next yr!
