To keep my "perfect" attendance record, and because the results at
http://www.ncccsprint.com/results.htm show a ? for my 23 Mar score,
decided to submit this now, late rather than never. That was the 2nd week
of NS and my first attempt at using N1MM. My foot heater blew the breaker
almost exactly halfway through and I discovered I didn't have the laptop
plugged into the UPS, as I thought I had; so lost a Q with N9CK and
everything else got flubbed up. Looking in the N1MM database, I discovered
I even opened a new log once I got power restored =========8-O

Due to the confluence of all the mishaps and confusion, I originally wrote
somewhere else that I wasn't gonna submit my actual score; but if it'll be
accepted at this late date, below's what I shudda submitted based on what I
worked. Note the original, unedited comments....... ;o\

Apparently, I first started out using the NAQP module which wants actual
ARRL sections; thus, it wouldn't accept CA or other multi-section state
abbreviations. Then when I opened the new log, I didn't know how to
retrieve the old log and didn't rember exactly what I'd already worked ;o((((

CU all tonight....

Comments:

My foot heater popped the breaker just before I finished with N9CK so no QSO
;o( Thought I had the laptop plugged into the UPS and discovered I didn't
============8-O I did a good, ole battery-less paper log last week so no
problems back then. But this tine, was trying to use N1MM program for the
first
time; it's so different from CT that I need hints and kinks on doing so for
these sprints. Managed to get the laptop's CW interface working just 9 mins
beforehand; turned out his special driver for NT-type OSes did the trick on my
old laptop to enable the LPT port but then I didn't have time to get
acquainted
with the program. Then I discovered it wouldn't take CA as the "section" ;o|
Have lost the link someone posted earlier on a workaround. Wound up modifying
the multiplier abbreviation list and adding such as FL, CA, TX but by the time
I figgered that out, only 8 minutes left. So I just tuned around and tried
typing in info from other Qs for some typing experience. Need to get in some
practice somehow. Anyone wanna do some practicing before #3 comes up?? I ain't
working that dang phone test this weekend, voice's fer sissies 9-))))))))))

What SW is everyone else using for this????
