Comments:

My original route was designed to hit 10 counties for one hour each.  In the
middle of the contest I elected to alter the route.  Big mistake as it put me
on some really winding roads which required trading operating time for driving
time.  The result was that I was only able to hit 8 counties.  No rig problems
but I got a scare when the car wouldn't start in the middle of the contest.  It
turned out to be a loose cable going to the starter which I was able to fix
quickly.
