Comments:

Wow, that was fun. I had a lot of trouble falling asleep after the contest.
Much like a CW Sprint. That makes sense, 'cause this event is every much as
busy and frantic as a Sprint except that it goes on much longer.

The first four hours were very slow and tough. The high bands sounded awful at
the start. I worked hard to find mults on 10 and 15 and I guess it paid off,
but a lot of mults I struggled to work early on were easy to work later. I
thought the QRN on the low bands would make the last hour tough so I planned to
take the last hour as an off time, but the QRN seemed to decline as the evening
went on, and 40 was very hot later on so that decision may not have been the
best one. During the last couple of hours, the rate was better on 40 but I
stuck it out on 80 and 160 to get the mults.

During the IARU I had a report that my Omni VI was chirpy on my ladder line-fed
205 foot zepp on 80 meters, so this week I put up a coax-fed dipole for 80.
It's a little lower than the zepp but it gives me more flexibility and should
eliminate any chirp-causing RF in the shack. I hope it solved the chirp
problem. The station now consists of 3 dipoles and the big zepp which I used
only for 160. All 10 and 15 meter contacts were on the 40 meter dipole. I
guess it's time to put up something for 10 (finally).

I'm planning to go out mobiling for the Ohio QSO Party in three weeks. Hope to
see everyone then.

73, Hal W1NN
