Comments:
This is our first true whole hearted attempt at Multi-op. We only ran two
radios for the 2nd half of the contest. 10 only opened up shortly just before
dark, the typical fast qsb made contacts hard and rates were slow. A quick
check of 15 revealed an dead band, wow what a surprise that was, haven't heard
a qso on 15 since nixon was in office. 20 meters was good, but I think we may
have abandoned it just a little too soon to head up to 40. For some reason the
40 vertical gave us better results then the 40 dipole. 80 was tough as always
with the typical summer atmospheric noise and t-storms only 30 mile south of us
most of the evening. This was also one of our first attempts at contesting on
160. Even though we did manage to make almost a dozen contacts, we fought with
rf getting into the computer keyboard which made it very hard to log as one
could imagine. Overall we are pleased with our first attempt at Multi op
contesting. We had a great time as always and are already looking forward to
the next contest.
73 from the U.P. and see you in the contests.
