Well - it was sure nice not having to deal with a lot of RTTY QRM on 40 meters
this year. There was s little from that other RTTY contest - but not so bad.
Also - it seemed like activity was good.
Twenty meters was tough from here - as it seemed lots of people had short skip
with louder signals and I got beat out a lot. Finally felt somewhat loud on 40
meters. 80 was in fine shape as well.
Rig - Elecraft K3 on 20/80 TS850 on 40
Main 20 meter antenna was not working - so I used a 5 element Telrex at 45 feet
(I am sure I will get lots of sympathy about that). Was up on the tower today
fixing the gamma match on the 40 - while it was snowing. A new experience for
me.
Did not hear any mults I missed. Too bad WW2Y wasn't on from NE, or someone
from WV or ME or VT or ... Nice to hear WD0T on - the loudest signal on 40 by
far.
I hearby state that I used no chatrooms during this contest. I know N6MJ can
do that AND operate two radios at the same time - but not this old dog. :-)
