Comments:

Not a good outing. Got home from my Thursday night class. Worked ten SNSers en
route on 40 meters mobile. Was a little late in setting up, but never was able
to "get right." A head case tinight. I'll bet I never copied KZ5D or KL9A/W7
correctly one time, and had to send the corected calls every time. Sorry Art
and Chris. "I could have been a contendah if only I didn't hafta send your
calls over and over 'cause I was a lid!"

Chased local W5JAW around getting beat out in most every jump ball. To rub it
in, with thirty seconds left, on eighty meters, where JAW has to run only 25
Watts due to some local RFI issue, KG5U in Houston called a CQ and JAW and I
got into a titanic struggle to get Dale. We both called a zillion times. It's
probably the biggest pile up Dale has ever had! Dammit if JAW didn't snag him
with two seconds to go. Congrats you rascal you!

It was that sort of night. 40 meters was pretty noisy here. We haven't had any
rain and no clouds forever...big heat wave...the place is drying out and
blowing away. But lotsa noise for some reason.

Oh well, a load of fun as always.

W0BH/m was loud, and he beat me out on several jump balls as well. Sounding
good, Bob.

Most worked awards:

4 QSOs W5JAW and W7OM
3 QSOs N9CK, VA7ST, K1ZZI, KL9A/W7, and KZ5D.

Jim
