Comments:

7QP was a good way to get some radio time in, and make brownie points at the
same time. QTH was the in-laws house in Bonners Ferry, ID. They live on 15
acres with nice big tall trees. The only problem is the 6000 foot mountain
about a mile away... to the east! OK, maybe it was 2 miles away.

Used an 80m dipole up about 75 feet, and a DK3 screwdriver antenna ground
mounted with 4 radials on each band. Rig K2/100. The 80m antenna really
seemed to play well. The vertical worked better than it ever has for me, the
radial system was an excellent addition. It's still only about 10 feet tall,
so no miracle Q's were expected!

After I struggled on 20m all morning and afternoon, I got a bit side tracked
doing other non-radio things. The other station in Boundary county, W7QC/7,
had a great QTH and was really sounding good! Nice job Steve!

The highlight was probably the 10pm hour on 80m. Signals were loud enough to
light up all the LED's on the K2's meter. A first for me. An 85 hour finished
up the contest before bed... nice.

There was some nice short skip on 20m in the late afternoon, and I could work
several mobile 7's in ID/OR/WA. That is pretty unusual.

Thanks to everyone for picking out my super weak signal! Since I can't put up
a decent antenna at home, I have to rely on portable or guest oping. It was
still lots of fun, even with the really poor shot to the US!
