Rig: Elecraft K2 @ 5W
Antennas: 135 foot doublet at 25 feet for 80/40/15M; attic dipole for 20M.

After last year's first foray back (after 20 years) into contesting via the CW
Sweepstakes, I promised myself that I would increase the chair time
significantly and put up better antennas for 40M/20M. Well, the much
dreamed-about fixed wire arrays are still to be hoisted, but I did add a 135
foot doublet at 50 feet with window line feeder last winter. Only problem was
the inevitable chafing and eventual parting of support lines brought one end
down to about 25 feet (resting out of reach in an oak tree). I consequently set
my expectations low for 80M, but was pleasantly surprised by the relative ease
of making Q's on that band vs. 40M/20M. In retrospect, I should have moved to
80M earlier in the evening instead of dawdling on 20M and then 40M.

Although I used CT for logging (and sent my exchange manually) last season, I
wanted to try N1MM's logger this season. For all those who put up with my
accidental presses of the wrong function keys during repeats of my exchange,
many thanks! As always, thanks to all for their patience with my weak signal.

I set goals for this year's test of minimum chair time of 12 hours (double last
year's number) and 250 Q's. I guess I set the bar too low.....but I really did
think that 80M was going to be a struggle with that low doublet and QRP.

Now back to work on those fixed wire arrays!

73, Mike, K8CN
