Club: Heart of Texas DX Society

Comments:

Nightmare for stations in the center of the state.  Only worked a total of 2 TX
stations on 20 meters on ground wave, and nothing from East or South Texas all
weekend.  Never heard W3DYA or NO5W on any band and lost most mobiles on Sunday
as they stayed on 20 meters out of reach.  Saturday evening on 80 meters was a
treat.  Great effort by K5UN, W0BH, K5NA and WW5X to visit 40 and 80 meters for
in-state QSOs.  Never worked VT, AR, NM, HI, ID, NV, AK, ND and SD.  Contest
clearly favors stations on periphery of state borders.  Equipment: Ten-Tec Omni
V (90 W) and wire dipoles.  Still, had much fun and hope for better condx next
year.  5,000 bonus points.  Chris, K5LH
