Comments:

Great fun! I found conditions to be wonderful on 20M on Saturday, and had one
hour with 160 Qs. Of course there were only a handful of contacts on 20 with
Texas counties, but Saturday evening and Sunday morning on 40M provided lots of
Texas counties, thanks to the mobiles. This was the first real test of my 40M
antenna since I worked on it a few weeks ago and it worked well. It was also
the first time in almost a year that I used the linear. It was fun to be a
loud signal on the bands.

I ended up with 50 states, 7 VE provinces, 17 DX countries and 135 Texas
counties.

I had one operator head space moment (actually 15 minutes) when I continued
operating on 20 after the end of the contest. I somehow got it in my head that
the contest ended at 2200Z, so I was merrily calling CQ Texas QSO Party for 15
minutes after the real end at 2000Z. Some kind soul finally took pity on me
and said the contest ended 15 minutes earlier. I stopped, looked up the rules,
and found he was right. The totals above do not include the Qs after the end!
Also, I have not figured out the bonus points yet for working the Texas
mobiles. I was also impressed with the mobiles in other states who had great
signals on 20.

Thanks to NO5W and NARS for their hard work in making this one of the best of
the state QSO parties!
