Comments:
Activated the usual seven grids of EN24/25/33/34/35/43/44. When I left my house
on Saturday mid-morning the temperature was 62 degrees with a northwest wind
gusting to 25-30 mph - fantastic weather for UHF propagation ! Saturday night
saw record low temperatures across the region. Is this August? Conditions
seemed to dip late afternoon on Saturday, then crawled back to the "not-to-bad"
catagory by Sunday. As usual, good fixed and rover activity up this way and
always fun to make those random, longer haul uW contacts - CW rules for weak
signal work. Here is the breakdown of # of Q's by grid: EN24(37), EN25(29),
EN33(46), EN34(69), EN35(32), EN43(57), EN44(59). Right at the end of the
contest my 5.7/10G IF rig decided to call it a day, and my 2304 suddenly
sounded like "shhhhh" when it should sound like "SHHHHH", but at least they
waited until the last 30 minutes of the contest. Don't forget to send in a
log. CU in the 10gig contest.
