Hi All:
Well that was a real prop test from here. I always wondered how if would
fare from 51 deg north on 160/peanut pwr. Mostly oneway skip till after
midnight, and if you get a spot on the cluster on a clear one and the VE6 is
wanted.
I was working skiing tours at Sunshine Village during the day so I had to be
on some reasonable form. Mind you skiing -25c at 9000 ft sure helps keep
awake!!
I managed a few replies to CQ's but mostly S&P on the loud ones for hours on
end and thank god for WWA!!! Even -- did'nt manage to work a local VE6 for a
mult!!?? Generally zero effect in the mid west but a few further east. I had
s3-5 noise pretty well all the time so DX was easy to copy but no hope for a Q.
Best dx was GA in the early hours. Loudest was K7RAT (by far)
Thanks for the Q's and gud DX to all.

VE6EX was Kenwood ts850s QRP with a Linear loaded sloper against my skilodge
rooftop tower/ TH6. (Yup it's bigger than the lodge). Ant2 was a top loaded vert
against a bunch of radials. TRLOG on dos is still the best for me and does all
the dirty work without complaining. As for the antennas; abt the same
performance, hard to pick a winner in that one. Lots of loud signals in the RX
but tough skiing on XMIT.
   Cheers, Dan VE6EX..
