Comments:

Other RAC stations worked: VE1RAC (4) VO1RAC (1) VA2RAC ( 5) VY2RAC (8)
VE9RAC (3) VO2RAC (3) VE8RAC (3) VA3RAC (2) VY1RAC (1) so missing RAC's
from VE4 VE5 and VE7. No Nu multipliers on any band in our log. Worked many
stations on multiple bands and modes - too numerous to list so I hope we got
most of you in the log if you heard us. Thanks to those who moved bands for us
and we tried to accommodate most band and mode requests if we could. We ran
phone and cw stations simultaneously on all the bands open, 6 hf positions in
total. Some unavoidable interstation racket but generally quite OK. Our best
hour was in the afternoon with 390 qso's logged, followed by several hours in
the 200's so the numbers add pretty quickly then.

Equipment:
160 756PRO1/AL-1200 full size 4 square (new for this year)
80 7800/Emtron dx4 4 square and 4 el full size yagi at 150'
40 756PROIII/HB 8877 5 el at 150, 3 el at 120, 4-30 log periodic at 113'
20 756PROII/Alpha 77 5/5/5/5 on a 200' stack (new) 5/5/5 on a 160' stack
15 7600 / 2x3-500 amp 6/6/6/6 on 150'
20/40/80 CW - 756PRO1/FL-7000 to 80 and 40 VEss / 20m Steppir 4 el spaced
approx 1100 feet from operating position.
The 160 position ran 15 cw during the day from a remote 6 el yagi at 110 and
the 80m station tried to get something on 10m during the day but we never got
out of the local area....

Conditions in general were good and thankfully the solar wind increase did not
damage the propagation as predicted! 20m opened early with the first VE qso
being VE1LD at 1320 but it never really got going until an hour later. 15
opened surprisingly early with VA2RF getting the early bird qso at 1536. And
both bands stayed open later than we expected... 80 and 160 started to open
well before sunset so we concentrated on those bands and I surprised VE1ZD
first on 80m at 2258 and then 17 minutes later on 160 for our last eastern
province on 160.

Thanks for the QSO's!

73, best of the season
de Don, VE6JY alias VE6RAC on Dec 19th
