Comments:

Wow what a contest, I decided to start on 40 and get some points early but the
balun died on my OCF dipole about 20 minutes into the contest, so all my 80 and
40 QSO's were made on the 160 meter inverted L thru the tuner. I had to QRT
early and missed the last 4 hours, but in spite those handicaps I was very
pleased with the results. Conditions were decent into 20 with Europe coming
thru nicely as soon as the sun peeked over the horizon and hanging in well into
the late afternoon. HZ1PS was very loud as was D4C, and the JA's were pounding
in the late evening. 15 was not that hot, I really had to dig to get those 47
QSOs and only a tiny few of them were from EU. I checked 10 meters off and on
all weekend and never heard a single station, not even the usual South
Americans big guns were heard this contest. 80 and 40 had to have been in
pretty good shape for me to have been working Europeans with my "emergency"
antenna. I think I am gonna hang a 1/4 wave 40 meter element alongside inverted
L for such emergencies..as good as the 160 meter element worked it would be
interesting the see what a tuned vertical radiator would do.

Lot's of activity, the DSP filters really earned their keep this weekend!
