Filippo IZ1LBG here
At the end we teaming up. This was a last minute decision...one week before the
contest I was supposed to do a SOAB...
Contest start with no sleep at all but first 4 hours were electrising making
about 60 QSO/hour...At 8.13 UTC we move on 15 m and that was really a great
idea...thare we worked many JAs and many asia station...first QSO on 20 m was
made very late on the morning (10.54 utc) and also here we had a big running yo
JA...we also worked ZM2B at a really strange time and with a strange antenna
position...after a little move on 15m we retourned on 20 m now beaming to
NA...band seemed to be opened to NA, indeed we have something like 7 hours of
running...Then we move on 80 m for some EU QSO then on 40 m where we a little
running to NA...then about 3 hour of break...we started again at 3.33 UTC,
first on 40 m then on 80 m where there were some big signal from NA
station...after a 15 minutes move on 15 m we moved on 40 m...many EU with some
(but really strong) NA and AS station called us...Then we moved again on 15 m
we there was no many station and band seemed to be closed...For that reason we
moved on 20m a little bit early than expected but we were able to find a really
good place to call (14082)...Many JA and HL reply to us...Then 40 m and again on
15 m where we were able to work 3 US station and a canadian station...then on 20
m but band close very ealy so we were forced to go on 80 m...then some 20 m QSO
with SA and then 40m...we ended the contest on 80 m with some QSO with NA...
First experience in a big contest in multi category...result is totally
unexpected...number of dx QSO (769) was also unexpected...
We decided to spend many time on low bands so we worked 20 m band not for so
many time...we have big running to NA and JA but very weak signal from EU...
15m was not really open, but it gave us many mult...
Number of QSO on 40 and 80m was totally the big surprise of contest...ovviusly
we woork many EU but totally we work 215 dx station...Paolo, IW1ARB, had made
many new band...we work those bands only with East/West dipole and now we are
wondering what could be the result with better antennas...
Again no possibility for 10 m operation...band was, as usual, closed...
We would like to thanks everyone for QSOs...
I hope to hear everyone on SSB one on March...
