Comments:

With a busy deployment schedule coming up next month, I stayed at home this time
around. I had a ton of stuff to do this weekend, so I only planned on operating
a couple hours at most. I found the low bands excellent the first night, and
operated much more as a result.

I use verticals over salt water for all bands. I can compete with anyone on
the low bands, but struggle on 20m and up, unless the DX is in my back yard.
It was amazing how big and tough some of the pileups were on random JA's on 20.
 15m flat out sucked here.

Best moment of the contest was moving NP3U to 10m on a whim that there were
some E's. He was 30-over-9! I called CQ for a couple minutes on 28023, and
was called shortly later by K5D, who was 20-over. He said "599 KW FIRST
CONTEST QSO". I suspect they had no idea the band was open; later they called
CQ themselves and worked a few FL stations. I had a couple other Caribbean
mults call in on 10m scatter.

The packet pileups were pretty brutal most of the time, and people seem to be
getting smarter. The DX will answer someone up 50Hz and the whole pile shifts
up. It made pileups more difficult at time.

Thanks for the QSOs,
73, Dave N2NL
