Comments:
This seems to have been another East Coast contest. N5AW
and I must have been in competing in another universe.
I had some minor weather-related problems which caused
the local electricity to flicker a number of times over
several hours. The CPU is on a UPS, but the monitor
and radios did several reboots. Apparently during one
of these incidents, one of the Orions became unstable,
locking up every few minutes. After putting up with
that for about two hours, I pulled it out and cabled
up the old reliable OMNI VI+. It took about two hours
to find all of the stuff to do the swap. All of this
happened during the second evening, which is when I'm
usually able to find a hole to call CQ on 40.
I worked almost exactly the same number of stations as
last year, while the multiplier count was up somewhat
as a result of the weak 15 meter European opening this
year where there was none last year. My 20m QSOs were
way down, especially on Sunday.
