Comments:

I had worked a few stations Friday night in the CQ 160 SSB Contest and had
planned to spend the day working the North Carolina and Mississippi State QSO
Parties. Saturday morning, not hearing any MS or NC on 20, I was hearing some
loud EU stations calling on CW so I worked the 4 who apparently could copy my
signal. I ended up working 1 MS station and no NC stations. I heard 3 or 4 of
each during the day on 20 and early evening on 40 but couldn't get replies from
any others. It just seemed like poor conditions. I did realize they were having
severe weather through-out the South so that may have certainly affected their
hearing weak signals. For some reason both of the Carolinas and MS seem to be
difficult for me in most domestic contests. After the state QP's expired I
concentrated on CQ 160 SSB. 73's to all, Bert, K6CSL
