What a fantastic time!!

Two years in a row that I catch the cold :( which was perfect since It gave me
a perfect comparison.. anyway this year decided to go unassisted since I was
convinced that packet only slows me down!

Well.. not too shure, started on the low bands and my numbers where
dissapointing and the low bands didnt seem as good as last year.
I was posting 40 qsos less per hr on the low bands, last year 215/210/209 on 40
mtrs.
instead the numbers where 180/176/176 this year, also I had an issue with the
software (n1MM) and still not sure as to what happenned, the auto send
threshold was not working and then It was repeating the call of the station
every time It would only send the typed characters up to the start of the auto
send..

I found this situation aggravating during the whole contest, as my headache
wouldnt allow me to think straight to fix it,a heavy dosage of panadol made it
all better and
i decided not to worry an go along while my body responded.

Promptly started full blown so2r after 0300Z (mni thanks to microham microkeyer
2+.. what a beauty!) 2nd radio produced over 100 mults which is very good but
still I feel I could have done better in mults. some how I was expecting about
440 with the amount of passing and two radio that was going on.

Obviously a little opening on 10 to europe would have made us very happy with
possibilitis of 50 mults plus in that band. Of course listeninig to HC8GR
running everything on 10 was a little frustrating :(
on 10 got V51AS and some SA and ground wave caribbean stations worked mostly by
moving from 15.
Worked a couple of W9's and some 4's... Heard cr2x, but called many times and
he didnt hear me.

I had the printed ng3k dxpeditions lists and there where a ton of stations
that
I never heard in spite of all the two radio listening which was done about 90%
of the time.

It seems that some dxpeditions got cancelled last minute or propagation was not

they way it should. missed zb2,vk tf3,vk9,zd8,9j and lots of others that where
in the lists, very few of africa, only heard Mike A25NW once. the only constant
one was 9L5.

Highlight was to work 5R8ZO on 40 and moved him to 80!! WOW Thanks Marco!
mni thanks to all that moved!! I didnt matter what I said I couldnt get the
Uk stations GD,GU and Gj to move to 20 from 15.. I gues QRm there was bad and
most of then stayed on 15!

As strange as it may sound inspite of the complaints of 15 being worse than
last year, for me I did better, maybe I spent too much time on 15 while others
where pounding qsos and mults on 20? will see on the posts..

After the dust settled I beated my assisted score of last year by 700 Qsos
anand down in mults but the overall score makes me very happy.. Thanks to
all!!
