Comments:
This year it has been a real -fun- contest!
Our goals in terms of qso and points were exceeded.
Nice to have this result despite the most of the operators were together for
the first time .
We enjoyed "unusual" 200+ qso/h rates from our little-gun setup.
The long time we spent working on towers, antennas, optimizing all the
hardware, finally paid, as we were ready to start one hour before the magic
00.00z Murphy shown only one time by pulling down the maim power switch, we
lost 10 mins of operation to reboot the station.
We spent Friday afternoon mounting the beverages antennas and the 4 square
array for 40m.
Then we had a briefing while drinking a good beer and eating pizza, finally we
assembled the station.
Yes, every contest we do, we have to assembly/disassembly the whole station and
the beverages, that is 3-4 hours work before and 2-3 hours after the contest.
The first night we found poor condition on 160m, we were able to hear at our
sunrise W3LPL, K3LR but no answer from them.
During both days we had very long openings with USA on 15m, with constant and
strong signals, while 20m were very crowded with some good run wth West Coast
USA stations.
Good signals the first morining from JA on 15, but only few stations to to
work.
The second night, condition on 160m were much better, and we were surprised to
easily work FY5KE after few calls, K1LZ arrived strong for a short time, no
answer from ZY7C, ZS9X.
We probably did mistake in not running on 10m the second day, missing some
interesting mult there.
We are very sorry to miss T7 in the log at all , it would be an easy qso for us
- Did anyone work it on 6 bands?
Many thanks to:
Andrea HB9DUR to assist with the 4 square vertical array that worked fine all
the contest.
Andrea IK4VET to help with the contest strategy that paid.
Claudio IW2HAJ for the logistic support and contest organization, home-made
food was really delicious!
