Comments:

My first go at the Russian Radio RTTY. I was surprised by how much activity
there was, considering the SSB contest and two QSO Parties.

Conditions on both 40 and 20 meters were better in New Mexico than in the
previous few weekend contests--less noise, less fatigue. 20m provided only a
handful of Qs before all activity stopped at contest start. After 40 played
out, I checked 80 and heard nada. Daybreak found 40 empty and 20 slow to
become active, but once it did I enjoyed a steady pace whenever I got on the
air. Local thunderstorms shut me down with an hour and a half to go, but
things were pretty slow by then with ops in darkness probably in the sack and
US east coast having supper.

15 was dead every time I checked it, just as it has been lately. Perhaps it's
the K3's front end (10m too)??? My sigs found Africa (Z29KM, a new one) for
the first time in a while. Despite attempts towards Asia, only one JA in the
log. America del Sur provided a handful, thanks to active ops in LU-land.

All ready for CQ RTTY!

Many thanks to Russian Radio for hosting this enjoyable outing, and special
thanks to the talented ops who participated!

73,
Dan K7IA
